Ever scroll through your feed and see an ad that just stops you in your tracks? The kind that looks like it had a Hollywood-level budget, a full CGI team… the whole nine yards.
You’re probably thinking, “That must have cost a fortune.”
Well, what if I told you it was all done with AI? And not just that… but that these videos often come from a single tool and one simple text prompt.
I know, it sounds a little unbelievable. But let me show you.
We’re seeing these incredibly creative ads pop up everywhere. Take a look at this insane Tesla video. Or this hilarious Uber Eats spot that was floating around on Twitter. They feel like big-budget productions, but they’re something you can start creating for your own brand… today.
In this post, I’m going to walk you through exactly how it’s done. We’ll look at some real-world examples, break down the process for creating the perfect prompts, and then actually make one together.
I’ve even got a custom workflow and 10 ready-to-use prompts you can grab to get started immediately.
The “Secret Sauce”: It’s All in the Prompt
So, how do you get results that look like a real, cinematic ad instead of a weird, wobbly AI video?
The magic ingredient is something called JSON prompting.
Okay, don’t click away! I know “JSON” sounds like something only a developer would love, but I promise it’s way simpler than it looks.
Think of it like this:
A regular prompt is like telling a friend, “Hey, can you make me a video about a man in a suit?” You’ll get something… but it might be a bit generic.
A JSON prompt is like giving them a detailed blueprint. It’s a structured way of telling the AI exactly what you want, scene by scene, without any fluffy words that could confuse it. You’re defining the characters, the actions, the camera angles, everything.
The AI just… gets it. No fluff, no confusion.
Let me show you the difference. Here’s a video made with a simple text prompt. Shout out to Tim Simmons for this example. It’s good, don’t get me wrong. But it doesn’t quite have that wow factor.
Now, look at the same idea, but made with a JSON prompt.
See what I mean? It’s way more cinematic. It looks like something you’d actually see in a movie or a high-end commercial. The structure of the JSON prompt gives the AI the clarity it needs to create something truly special.
Okay, But That Code Looks Complicated…
I get it. You see a block of code like this, and your eyes glaze over.
{
"prompt": "A Pepsi can, glistening with condensation, dramatically rises against a backdrop of explosive fireworks at a Super Bowl stadium.",
"style": "cinematic, high-energy, commercial",
"camera": ["dynamic tracking shot", "low angle"],
"duration": 5
}
But here’s the thing: you don’t have to write it yourself.
I put together a little resource that lets you generate these prompts in literally five seconds. If you use ChatGPT or Gemini, you can set up a dedicated project or “gem” that does all the heavy lifting for you.
You basically feed it some instructions and a file with a bunch of JSON examples. Then, all you have to do is ask for what you want in plain English.
Something like: “Create a JSON prompt for a Tesla ad.”
And boom. It spits out a perfectly crafted JSON prompt, ready to go. You can get as specific as you want. “I want a bottle of my shampoo to start hovering in a steamy bathroom, then fly out the window over a city.” The AI will take your idea and structure it into the blueprint it needs.
Let’s Make a Video
Once you have your prompt copied, the rest is easy.
We’re going to use a tool called VEO, which you can access through Google’s Flow or the Gemini AI Pro subscription. (Quick tip: you can often get a free trial for a month, which gives you plenty of credits to play around with).
You just start a new project, paste your JSON prompt right in, and hit generate.
A few settings to keep in mind:
- V3 Fast: This is your best friend for experimenting. It’s 720p and only uses 20 credits. The audio generation is solid, too.
- Quality: If you want the high-res 1080p version, use the “beta audio” quality setting, but it’ll use more credits.
- Output: You can generate multiple versions at once to see which one you like best.
After a few moments, you get… this.
It’s absolutely mind-blowing. We gave it a simple idea, translated it into a clear blueprint, and the AI created a full-blown production. When you think back to the janky AI videos of 2022, and now we’re here in 2025 getting this quality from a text prompt… it’s just incredible.
And that 720p video? You can easily download it and use a video upscaler to get it to 1080p or even 4K.
Your Turn to Create
Feeling inspired? You don’t have to start from scratch.
I’ve put together a Google Doc with 10 different JSON prompts that you can copy, paste, and start using right away. You can find the link in the video description. Tweak them, learn from them, and see what you can create.
The world of AI is moving at a wild pace, but tools like this are making it easier than ever for anyone to bring their creative ideas to life.
