You’ve seen them, right?
Those insane VO3 Tree AI ads that are going absolutely viral. The IKEA unboxing videos where a whole room just… materializes out of a flat-pack box.
It’s pretty wild stuff. And honestly, you can make it yourself.
The secret sauce is a prompting format called “JSON prompting.” And before you click away, let me just say… it’s not as scary as it sounds.
There’s a lot of buzz around the term, with some people thinking it’s a magic spell that instantly creates mind-blowing videos. It’s not. Not really.
Think of it less like a magic spell and more like a detailed recipe for the AI. Instead of just yelling “exploding box!” at the AI, you’re giving it a structured, step-by-step plan. It helps the AI understand the sequence and details of what you want to happen.
In this post, I’m going to show you exactly how it works, give you the prompts you need, and even show you a little shortcut I made to make it even easier.
Let’s Start with the Unboxing Trend
First things first, you need to get access to Google’s V3 model. I’m using a platform called OpenArt because it bundles a bunch of different AI video generators together, which saves me from juggling a dozen subscriptions. You can also do this directly on Google Flow.
Once you’re in, here are the settings you’ll want to use:
- Model: Switch from “image-to-video” to “text-to-video” and select V3.
- Audio: Leave it on. You want those cool sound effects.
- Resolution: Bump it up to 1080p.
- Video Mode: You can use “normal,” but “fast” is way cheaper on credits, so that’s what I use when I’m experimenting.
Now for the prompt. I’m going to share a whole document with all my prompts, but let’s try one out. I had this idea for a “Labubu room transformation.”
I copied the full JSON prompt, pasted it into OpenArt, and let it cook.
While it’s generating, let’s quickly look at what the JSON is actually doing. It’s basically a list of instructions in a specific order: what’s the camera angle, what’s the lighting, what kind of room is it, what elements should appear? It gives the AI a clear storyboard.
The result? It was pretty cool! It wasn’t quite Labubu—the AI had a hard time with that specific character, probably because it’s so new—but the effect was definitely there.
Your Turn: Making Your Own Prompts
Okay, so how do you write these yourself? You could learn the structure, or… you could use a little helper.
I made a custom GPT bot that creates these JSON prompts for you. You just tell it what you want in plain English.
I gave it a shot: “Give me a JSON V3 prompt of a box opening room transformation in Tom and Jerry style.”
A few seconds later, it spat out a perfectly formatted prompt with all the details filled in. I copied it, pasted it back into OpenArt, and boom. A new video, generated just like that. It was honestly pretty good! Sometimes you have to try a few times to get the perfect result, but that’s just part of the creative process.
It’s Not Just About Unboxing
The unboxing thing is fun, but it’s just a trend. The real power here is using this format to create professional-level advertisements.
I mean, check out this one I made for Apple.
Or this one for Starbucks. This is sick. A brand could literally pay $100,000 for a commercial like this, and we’re making it in minutes.
But this one… this one is my absolute favorite. It took me four or five tries to get it right, but it was so worth it. Just look at this.
That’s just… wow. Super dope.
And to end with a banger, I made this perfume ad. If anyone calls this trash, I will fight you in the comments. This is insane to me. I literally lack the words to describe how crazy this is.
Go Create Something Amazing
Look, the point is to be creative. The more creative you are with your ideas, the better the results will be, as long as you have a clear objective.
If you want to try this yourself, I’ve got you. I put all the prompts I used—including the one for that insane perfume ad—in a document for you. Just sign up for my newsletter via the link in the video description, and you’ll get access to it. I promise, no spam, just good AI stuff.
I’m really curious to see what you’ll make with this. Let me know in the comments
